The Stunt Man, I think. "If God could do what we can do, He'd have died a happy man." But that's assuming Henry II is sane in The Lion in Winter. "I took the candles from the chapel. Jesus won't begrudge them, and the chaplain works for me." Room for debate, I think.

"The Ruling Class," hands down, no ifs-and-or-buts. The darkest "comedy" I ever saw, and Thank Gawd that in the US class is strictly about money. TVAG ("I'm Jack. I'm Jack…")
