Way back in 1982 a young Finnish lad (who's name I have long since forgotten) asked me if I wanted to go to a tank museum. I said sure. The museumwas outdoors at the time (looking at the webpage it looks like it is mostly covered now) and in teh middle of a forest, so there were lots of shadows.
This was the day that sparked my interest in the Winter War.
Photos can be found here on my blog:

Here's a teaser photo, which I call
A bad day to be a Soviet tanker.

By the way, anybody now if this was likely an ATR or ATG hit?

First comment is to say thanks to take us back there again. This museum is just legendary, with a superb collection, so unlike what so many European exhibitions feel is now politically incorrect.

Well worth seeing again. Your comment is well made, view from the illuminated side of the AFVs, not the shaded.

I think by 1982 I had learnt that, I was using Kodachrome slide film, and had no idea that one day I would have a Star Trek hand held gadget that could take "snaps"

That's a good collection of vehicles and photos, mate. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks much for the photos. I don't think the one you labeled as a KV-2 is one, the hull looks like a BT7 type, but that turret is wacky?

Nice photos!

Is it a BT-42?

Is it a BT-42?

I think you are correct, sir.

The first of the ‘unknown' tanks appears to be a British Comet and the last a Charioteer. Great photo shoot, thanks for sharing.

The first of the ‘unknown' tanks appears to be a British Comet and the last a Charioteer.

In between them from top to bottom .

British Vickers Light Tank Mk VI, probably a MkVIB

T-60 ( think the gun maybe fake ? )

T-70 light tank

BA-20 light armored car

Finnish training mock-up vehicle created using the chassis of a captured Soviet T-38 light tank.

BA-10 Armoured Car

T-26

The one labled Vickers 6 ton , looks like a Renault FT17 .

Thanks for the info – I will update it.
IIRC, we were told that at the time it was the world's best tank museum for before and early war stuff

Thank you. Great early war stuff there!
