So good!

"This 1:72 scale diorama, titled "Napoleon in Kronach," is on display at the German Tin Figure Museum in Hannoversch-Münden, near Kassel. Covering approximately 5 square meters, it recreates the old Rosenberg Fortress in Kronach as he entered it in 1806.

Napoleon arrived at Kronach Fortress on October 8, 1806, at the head of his guards in a six-horse carriage. At noon that same day, accompanied by his marshals, he inspected the Rosenberg Fortress to assess its defenses…"

Rather splendid.

It certainly is impressive but I really wanted to see this six horse carriage described in the text. I see caissons, ammo wagons, small arms carts……but not a carriage anywhere. Even Boney, described as walking around the perimeter, is hard to find. I think there is a distant view of him, but mounted and rear view. They should show more illustrations of what is indeed great work.

Thanks for showing. Germany has this gift for dioramas in 1/72 (and making the metal figures and vehicles to go with them)

A very old link. The museum is already for years on a different location. Goto geschichte-in-miniaturen.de

Hello Mr D.

This wondrous model used to be at the Zinnfiguren museum in Hann Munden, long since relocated.

I visited the Dioramica many years ago and met Wolfgang and his team there.

Inspirational modellers who are very friendly.

The link you seek is,

His majesty is on horseback approaching this fine edifice.

The Gerschite in Miniturian website no longer has a live feed but is still a worthwhile browse for modelling excellence.

The upgraded site is available through the WhatsApp group.

That first link shows great photography, but the second is astounding. I have only viewed what they achieved with the Airfix RHA, so far. OK, it was probably amongst the best plastic 1/72 scale figure set that Airfix ever manufactured. But I will be back to that site
