How do you handle subs in your wargaming?

We are using Naval Command. All aircarft and vessels (surface or submerged) have tokens which are replaced by models once detected by radar/sonar. Some are blinds.

Great pieces. Too often ships that small get lost on their basing. Here the basing is interesting and lively but the ships stand out perfectly.
