I do like try to solve or give some ideas at least on topics that are still not studies. It seems actually impossible, but if you search on internet you will find – for example – no info concerning the Wilhel's von Weimar Leibregiment.

So I started some researches – and I well understood the historical context of the Landgrave of Sachsen Weimer during the TYW – and from this I tried to draw this regiment, with its colours and men.

I don't know how much in my guesses are correct (probably some) but for what is my concerning (half wargame half historical) I think this is in any case the first step in reasearches for this tough regiment.

more details obviously here

the reasearches this time had to go through investigation of paintings and some researches on old book in German

Thank you again for all your work ! Especially for the Thirty Years War – where research is rather complicated because of all those little things that has to be found in rather dark places – your information is time and again a joy to see (including of course your posts about the Rissorgimento).

thanks Porthos for your kind words. I have to confess I enjoy a lot to discover dark topics of history that one thinks are well known.. maybe in general terms yes, not in the particulars. I will go on. Be sure!. Thanks again
