This year's work on my World Turned Upside Down AWI project reaches its conclusion with the showcasing of my most recent addition to the collection, the hard-fighting 2nd Maryland Continental Regiment.

From its origins as the Maryland State Troops of Independent Companies that fought with Washington's main army defending New York, participating in the Battle of Harlem Heights, it became a regiment in its own right in January 1777 and would be in almost constant action throughout the war participating in the battles of Brandywine, Germantown, Monmouth, Camden, Guilford Courthouse and Eutaw Springs.

The Marylanders also form part of my AWI army, but definitely not as striking as these fine fellows!

Yes, a splendid unit! Your battlefields must be impressive with troops like this.

Hi Chaps,
Thank you, and as far as my battlefields, well they're in the planning and preparation stage at present, as the figure collection is put together, but I'll be posting plans in my blog New Year annual review as the AWI project moves to front-of-stage for the foreseeable.

Cheers
