You are wrong (fourtimes). The 28th Regiment with the three bataillons was the Nassau-Oranje regiment. I am not sure, how many of the bataillons fought at Quatre Bras. The 1st and 2nd Nassau Regiment all came from Nassau-Usingen. (And the designation of the 2nd Regiment as "Leichtes Regiment" was IMO irrelevant.) Nassau-Oranje is the House of the Kings of the Netherlands. Nassau-Usingen is the House of the Duke of Nassau (in Hessia). They were realtives, but ruled different states. |

sorry about the 4x post:( my source En 1815, il existe 3 régiments dits de Nassau : les 1er et 2ème régiment ainsi que le régiment d'Orange-Nassau. Ce dernier ainsi que le 2ème sont au service du Royaume des Pays-Bas pour une durée de 6 ans depuis le 8 novembre 1814. Le régiment d'Orange-Nassau prend d'ailleurs le n°28 dans la séquence des unités de ligne de ce royaume et porte un uniforme de type hollandais. Le 1er régiment est lui totalement indépendant. |

Kevin. Your text is not different from what i wrote. But yes, the 2nd Regiment was from the duchy Nassau, but "lend" to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. If you use a translator, you can find some more information here. link |
