You were asked – TMP link What is the horror film you have watched the most number of times? This isn't about the 'best' film, or even necessarily your 'favorite', though they may overlap. This is about your comfort eye-candy that is the go to for watching. In the final round of voting: 30% said "Alien" 18% [TIE] said "Ghostbusters (1984)" or "Big Trouble in Little China (1986)" |

Still trying to figure out how Ghostbusters (comedy) and BTiLC (fantasy, adventure) got classified as horror…. Dave |

Dave, I think the poll showed us that a lot of TMPers don't watch a lot of horror. |

The poll and its continuing comments showed that "some people" insist on classifying things in one category, and one category only. They've never heard of Venn diagrams. A comedy can have horror elements. Does the fact that Alien is sci-fi mean that it cannot also be horror? When you watched it, were there not moments when you jumped in your seat? I know of a few. Just like Jaws. |

Hate horror. Never watched the first Alien. Had a young son in the 1980s so Ghostbusters was a multiple watched event. |

Alien is a good Sci-Fi and a good Horror movie. Sci-Fi/Horror films have a decent track record of succeeding at both. Ghostbusters is a good Comedy with trace elements of Horror; as is the want of most Comedy-Horror. There are some good exceptions that succeed at both, Shaun of the Dead for example. It seems a safe wager that there are not many folks who think "I feel like watching a horror movie" and put on Ghostbusters. Categorising Big Trouble in Little China as a Horror movie is a very minority opinion and quite a stretch. |

Nothing more atmospheric then the old black and white hammer films. Especially Dracula with Lee and Cushing!! |

"Still trying to figure out how Ghostbusters (comedy) (…) got classified as horror…." Some people are scared of ghosts… ;-) |

Categorising Big Trouble in Little China as a Horror movie is a very minority opinion and quite a stretch. Be grateful that nobody nominated Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I actually played in a wargame based on that….. |

Categorising Big Trouble in Little China as a Horror movie is a very minority opinion… It made it to the final, so must be a majority opinion! |

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is an actual Horror movie. Not great as a Horror movie, but it is by far the best Pride and Prejudice movie I've seen! I've watched it several times, and will again. The Bennet sisters et al. regularly appear in Silver Bayonet games around here. Big Trouble making it to the final is a definite indicator that a lot of TMPers don't watch a lot of horror. |

Oh? Who makes 28mm Bennet sisters? My sister is a great fan of Ms Austen. |

Big Trouble making it to the final is a definite indicator that a lot of TMPers don't watch a lot of horror. It could also mean that they don't agree with your definition of "horror". Judging by your determination to make people vote your way, I guess you like herding cats. 😄 I've commented in other Poll results that I thought the Poll itself was silly, and thus voted for silly choices. There's one currently running that gave negative votes almost 100%. |
