We already have Malcolm McDowell in Royal Flash. It's an acquired taste. I sort of like him. Some despise him. 🤷

May I suggest that John Cleese played a very good "not-Flashman" in Silverado. After all, the many "Giant Rat of Sumatra" non written but coyly suggested references have him as a sheriff in the Wild West. Where Fraser could have placed him in the timeline is beyond me, so it was obviously a teaser.
"My jurisdiction ends … here!" Quite Flashman.

But I'd like to suggest Rupert Friend. As soon as I saw him in Homeland, I thought he looked like a fine Flashman. Tall. Handsome. Perfect.
But seeing him in The Death of Stalin sealed the deal. I would cast him as Flashy if I had the money to get stolen by the Hollywood sharks. 🦈

Any other suggestions? Must be tall, athletic, good looking. Remember that Flashy's career spanned 1839-1914. This gives a lot of actors a shot.

And a self serving scoundrel in real life would help.

But I'll throw Alfie Allen from GofT out. He sort of played that part in the show. Reminds me of Harry. But alas 5.9. But he is English.

But then Tom Cruise played an over 6 ft blond giant. 🤨

I loved Oliver Reed in the movie, he was great. I second Rupert Friend. A non-English suggestion is Timothy Olyphant, his Raylan Givens in "Justified" has a lot of Flash-like attributes. I'm sure he can fake an English accent.

Ah! Peter Dinklage!

Billy Dee Williams. He has rakish charm.

Or a little left-field: Scarlett Johansson.

Yes, I know there'll be outcries about their unsuitability as Americans but I maintain both could pull off a British accent.

Pedro Pascal is in everything. It's The Law!
But he's tall, good looking and athletic.

Keeping with my GoT theme, Nikolai Coster Waldau.

House of the Dragon has some likely lads.

Iwan Rheon, if you want truly Evil.

Keeping with the Welsh, Ioan Gruffud.
