The 2026 Seven Years War Convention is shaping up to be a special event given the nature of next year's anniversary. The 2026 theme is 'A shot heard round the world'. We are coordinating with a group of 18th century reenactors who will be in attendance with their materials. Additionally, this year's date coincides with a scale modeler's convention in the same facility. The Armor Modeling & Preservation Society will hold their event which features many 20th century armored vehicles. We plan to cross promote and hope this may showcase each other's hobby to prospective newcomers. Don't hesitate to book a hotel room if you are considering attending. Details found here: link Remember that the convention is pay at the door only and no pre payment is needed. Dealer tables are available and events submission is open. Again, see the website for submission forms and contact information. Hope to see you there! |

Much thanks. Room reserved at the Doubletree. |

So, I am coming for the first time. I have a room at the Doubletree. I put in a game, "Lord Dunmore's War". Will I get a notification that my game has been accepted? I am coming out on Thursday (Driving from Philadelphia area). Arrival about 4pm. My wife and I are splitting driving. What is Thursday night like? Will I be able to get a game in or should we opt for a big dinner and an early night? I am supposed to run my game at 9am on Friday. I am hoping to get to Norte Dame an tour the campus. I want to buy a tee and a pint glass. I want to play that night (hopefully). I will stick around all day Saturday and play. Sunday, looking to get back. We will both work Monday. Advise welcome! |

Welcome, Rotundo! UND is no problem--straight up the street from the convention maybe a 10-15 minute drive. If I were you, I'd go at the conclusion of the Friday game, Friday evening and Saturday being pretty good for gaming, and there's usually at least one good lecture on Saturday. Usually some gaming on Thursday evening, but not a wide selection. You should be able to see the schedule on Thursday on arrival if not before. Hmm. UND is a decent-size campus. If you know what you want to see and where the gift shop is prior to arrival, it will save you limited convention time. A trip to The Griffon--gaming and bookshop, about three blocks from the Doubletree--is usually a rewarding experience. Everyone connected with the convention can direct you or accompany you. Several good places to eat, but fish & chips at the Fiddler's Hearth is often a good Thursday night choice. (They can run a little crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings.) |

I attended a few years ago. Played in 4 very enjoyable games. 👍 I spent about 10 minutes trying to TALK MYSELF OUT OF BUYING a beautiful Spanish in Mexico (California?) hacienda. I failed. 🤷🙄 |

Is there a special hotel rate at the convention site, and if so, is there a link to the hotel where one could get a room for this Con? This will be my first time at the SYW Con, thus, I have no idea how to register or how much this will cost. Thanks! |

My apologies for posting this twice, it seems the SYW Con is a state secret, but is there a special hotel rate at the convention site, and if so, is there a link to the hotel where one could get a room for this Con? This will be my first time at the SYW Con, thus, I have no idea how to register or how much this will cost. Thanks! |

CarasML the cost I think is going to be $40 USD for the weekend. You pay cash at the door there is no registration unless you want to run a game. The link I posted above takes you to The SYWA site which has a form for submitting games. I think we have a block of rooms at the Doubletree, which is attached by a five mile tunnel.. its not 5 miles but seems like it. Hope that helps |

Rooms are available at the Doubletree South Bend For reservations call 574-234-2000 You should pay about $149 USD per night. More details here: link |

Not sure if this is the right place for this announcement, but I will be attending the Seven Years War Con, and will have a number of 28mm AWI infantry available, primarily Old Glory, and a number of mounted high command officer types, primarily Front Rank Miniatures. All figures are metal, very well painted and reasonably priced. (If this posted in the wrong place, please accept my apologies.) |
