In the second part of a post covering my recent visit to the Vasa Museum in Stockholm, I have focussed specifically at the items now preserved in the museum that were discovered in her interior and around the wreck site on the seabed after her recovery in 1961.
This recovery work also included the retrieval of human remains of the crew that has enabled a much closer look at who was aboard at the time of the sinking, their state of health when they died, and the likely causes that prevented their escape, when the majority onboard were able to get off the ship.

Thank you for this terrific look at the "Vasa" and her museum. The recreations of the victims were most interesting. A new fact for me was that most on board escaped as I'd thought most had died. |

Hi, thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the read. I really enjoyed the visit and I think the Vasa Museum is up there with the best in terms of their presentation of such a unique exhibition. Cheers JJ |
