I found these Battle Honours vivandiers and, not being an expert on women's costume in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, wondered how useful they might be for camp followers of other nations besides France. Any thoughts?

Cheers,
John

If you haven't already bought them, a word of warning. I got a set recently and was disappointed. They look like anorexic supermodels rather than the image on the website.

Interesting. No I haven't bought them yet so thanks for the word of warning. I certainly don't want a bunch of anorexic supermodels :~)

I painted them up – it was a struggle: link

The details are mostly French, but a pair of them might pass as English or maybe Germanic.

Great job.

They are not at all vivandiers

Interesting as my initial order at 20mm of Napoleon and his generals was minuscule.

They very kindly reprinted them in 1/72 and they are very nice.

I then ordered some Grenadiers for my project in 1/72 that were completely incompatible with anything else.

I raised this but was referred to a scale chart. Whilst the chart is correct, they are massive compared to Hat, Stretlets and even Italierri.

Beautiful sculpts but I had to scrap them.

Very strange.

Best wishes,

Chris
