Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the first film's release.

These versions were not shown in theaters, but only sold as DVDs (I have ‘em). They add about an hour to each movie.
Only one day for each film, but different dates for different formats, so 6 dates in all. (2 per film).

Bug bite! But this time it quadrupled my efforts!

Also, I thought tags would work in the headline. Guess not…

So, the three hour movies are now four hour movies? I'd have to smuggle in a pizza or some sandwiches.

Four hours of bliss.

I have the DVD box set of the extended editions. Cinematic heaven, although I could still do without Sam and Frodos lengthy romance at the end.

I spent an entire day during COVID lockdown, watching the three DVD boxed set. It was indeed a marathon effort!!!
4+ hours for each movie, plus the occasional potty break and meals made for a truly epic day!!

OSCS7409 Dec 2025 7:26 a.m. PST

Looking forward to it.

We have tried several times to watch all three extended editions in one marathon day but we always fail somewhere before the end. Start too late in the day!
