I tend to use that option in a member's profile to give a 👍 to anyone who says "I agree with the OFM ".

Well, why not? TMP has hundreds of members. The harmless option is there. I can't trade with everyone. So why not acknowledge friendly folks?

I treat it as the opposite of Stifle and Ignore.
I dumbly voted down the option to "Like" a post. This is the next best thing.

I only use it for people I have actually done deals with and all went well.

There are some wonderful people on the site that could just as easily be real rats when it comes to sales.

I recall the husband of one of my wife's friends. He was charming (charisma of 18). The only problem, that we found out later, was he regularly beat his wife.

I hold endorsement for people based on their actions and not just words.

I've just endorsed you because although I probably won't, I would trust you to buy from or sell to.
And you use your words so well.

I would hesitate to give someone a good trader point if I hadn't done business with them. Doing that would tend to water down the intent of the good trader device. But I agree with you, John, some kind of "attaboy" would be nice. 👍

I use it in the hopes I will endorse the Dark One's minion, who will spare me eternal torment when they rise again.

I have rarely used it as I have only once traded with a fellow TMP'er (checked: I have a rating of 2, so I must have traded with two TMP'ers over the past 20 years). I agree that I like it for its intended purpose.

Online etiquette and civility demonstrates itself in our posts, for those of us who post often. I think that is sufficient by itself. YMMV. Cheers!

I use it for the intended purpose but, just because I find it a useful guide. That said, almost all my transactions over the years have been with members I recognize.
