I noticed the old world is above middle earth in the menu on the GW site. You actually have to click more to see middle earth.

New (old?!?) stuff pouring out for the new, dang, old world. Not much for middle earth.

Its good to see Cathay. No metal, alas.

A worthy replacement for Easterlings.

I notice the extortionate pricing for middle earth, while TOW seems mostly reasonable, going by GW standards at least.

Now the pods have opened and middle earths replacements are basically complete.

Empire – Gondor.
Britonia-Rohan.
Dwarves-Dwarfs.
Highelves-hippy elves.
Woodelves-wouldn'tchaelves.
Orcs and goblins – have a guess.
Beastmen-orcs.
Warriors of chaos-orcs/wildmen.
Tomb kings-dead green Elvis impersonators.
Cathay-Easterlings.

Who's left?

Harad?
Morgul?

But all the main players are there plus some.

I expect the high prices on Lotr are directly linked to less sales while still having to pay a licence fee.

Old world doesn't have that issue. Its just greed there.

How long will GW clutch onto the licence?

They are mostly just rehashing old releases. Plenty of kids of 10, now heading for 30s who want to buy their kids the figures they had ad a kid.

Likely less new and more rereleases?

But with even higher prices to accommodate holding onto the licence.

Likely newline and such will give it to someone else to do a fresh take.

Or GW just drops it, as they have a free one that seems to be going better.

I had some LOTR figures around the time I was 15. I could afford them then. Sold them when I was newly married to get extra money. Went back to buy some to get back in recently and noped right back out. Bought Dark Alliance 1/72 to play instead

Smart move – those Dark Alliance figures are very good.

Well, the important thing is that whoever gets the license next does it in a different scale. There are traditions to be maintained, after all.

I thought scale creep was a tradition?
