Sounds like a fair set of reasons. Have you thought about trying another rule set out, completely removed from ADLG or the DBX stable? That would require you to "start again" so to speak.

I had so much stuff from the Gap in the 1990s. I even dated someone from the Gap.

I think if it was me, I'd try something entirely different- different scale, different period, different rules- or perhaps, even, no rules at all. A palette cleanser project; perhaps something that I enjoyed reading about as a child, or at Uni. Maybe French Indochina, Garibaldi or the ACW. Mess around for a bit and then come back refreshed, or not, if I didn't feel like it.
