In January 1945, an extraordinary operation occurred in a Dutch river 80 miles from the sea – a U-boat attack! And not just a single attack, but a huge operation involving over 20 submarines attacking the famous bridge at Nijmegen. It was the largest inland U-boat operation of WWII, but one of the least known.
