Making buildings for the Taiping Rebellion. I've made some building bases so far. Now I want to build roofs and am looking to traditional Xuanshan roofs. Has anyone done this? Pointers? Videos (I've looked but can't find any).

Thanks.

From my experience working on the Boxer Rebellion, it appears buildings with with the ornate upturned roof corners were rare – temples, palaces, government buildings and such. Much more common (and easier to scratch build) were buildings with curved roofs. I used fish tank ornaments for my "fancy" buildings.
I once saw a tic-toc style video of a Chinese craftsman making a bird cage. He used a technique that, to me, requires too much skill and time for me to attempt it.

Good luck!
