Several years ago, I was painting Richard Houston ACW gunboats, many of which have a base. I'd just flown across the American South, looking down at all the brown, murky rivers and tried painting the bases that color. It came out looking like the gunboats had run aground on a mud bank. So, I went back and painted the bases a rivery blue. Now, I'm painting a crocodile, largely submerged in the Nile with just his nose, eyes, and back showing, and I wanted to see if anyone had good ideas for painting murky, brown river water. Can't have a croc from the "land of sky-blue waters." Grelber |
