You were asked – TMP link

How Many Continents Have You Wargamed On?

Speaking of miniature wargaming, of course.

Average response: 1.69 continents

I think in this case, the median is more useful than the mean.

I would have thought the mode (most common result) would be the most useful.

But why continents? So many different countries, languages and cultures within a continent.

arthur1815 There are instances where teams of contractors perform services in other countries and some of the members are also wargamers. They play wargames in their time off. In my case, it was mostly boardgames when performing duties in Africa but miniatures when stationed in Asian countries as we would game in friends houses. I remember playing at the rec center on Yokota AB, Japan with Japanese fellow hobby gamers in the Japanese military- neither of us knew each other's language but referencing the rules sets (the numbering systems were the same) we were able to resolve disputes with minimum use of an interpeter. All had a great time and made new friends.

I think you're right, arthur1815--or just the poll results themselves. But Bill prefers a conclusion as title for the post-poll thread.
