Hi Guys,

Here's my next video on fixing bad resin casts:

youtube.com/watch?v=YznHYpd44tM

The building was sold as a 15mm, but it's more in scale with my 10mm buildings. They are for a 10/12mm Salerno scenario for 'O' Group.

Thanks very much for this video, Ryan! It shows what can be done with a basic building that has a few flaws in the casting and upgrading to a miniature masterpiece.

You're welcome, I'm glad you found it useful. I'm finding that most the resins, so far, respond well to carving and engraving.

You did an excellent job on that building! I have a ton of 15mm Napoleonic buildings with the same endemic casting flaws from worn-out molds or bubbles in the resin. Life is good when you happen to get them from new molds…

Nice article. I learned about Microform Models for the first time thanks to your video. Thanks!

As for the cast-on balls, it's in the mold. When making the mold, the material is poured too quickly and the viscosity of the liquid mold making material traps air bubbles. When I make molds for liquid plastic (not the usual resin) is resistant to allowing those air bubbles to form. Every casting from that mold will have the same problem at the same place.

I really paid attention to the making of the balcony. I have a few buildings that I have wanted to add them to. I also an playing around with Atlas' Hairpin Fence in N scale for wrought iron railings in front of windows. (Atlas item #2850). My local hobby shop initially told me Atlas no longer made it. I had to bring in 2 boxes of them I found easily on-line. They now have a box on the shelf! Easy to cut the thin plastic pieces to fit.

Again, I enjoyed the episode very much. Thanks.
