Most of their legacy figures are true 25mm, but then again, everyone has a different opinion of how tall X/Y/Z monsters are, so the old method of ordering sample figures may need to be revived…

As an aside, most of these figure sculpts appear to date from the early 1980's, based on my memories of their Dragon Magazine advertisements from that era. I could be wrong, but I believe many of the figures offered date from that period. The quality of the sculpts is quite good, IMO. Don't let their age put you off from looking.

I found a Dwarf rider, in Plate Mail, with an Axe, sold with a Plate Barded Bear! I've had an NPC Dwarven Bear Rider in my RPG games for decades. Now I have the perfect figure for him and his pet bear mount! It will also make a superb, heavily armored, Dwarf Hero for my 2e BS games.

They offer a set of six Dwarven Bear Cavalry (rider + bear mount), for $49.95 USD, or $8.33 USD per rider/mount, and these are lead-free metal, not plastic. To me, that is a sweet deal! I already have Dwarven Ram Cavalry, with leaders riding Boars. Otherwise I would jump on this deal.

They have loads of very diverse figures sets to choose from. Some of their cavalry deals are quite good. Cheers!

Always a fan of their Historical Colonial line

Interesting as always how the historical are cheaper than the fantasy figures on their site

Thanks for that. I have a nostalgic love of the really old (er, ugly sculpts) goblins and now I can add to them. And of course the exquisite Tom Meier sculpts.

Just for the record, I took 11 of those bear cavalry to flea markets for a year. Not only no sale, no offer. I finally had to paint them to get $2 USD a figure. (No, I have no idea why. The raw figures looked great to me too.)

It's not the age that puts me off -- It's the outrageous pricing.

Shameless plug. If you like the colonials I have several lots on eBay listed below on the marketplace.

Old Glory Miniatures has 28mm Dwarven Boar Riders 2 per pack retail 17.00. Old Glory Army members 10.20 for two figs. Nice castings. Partha are beautiful castings for the most part. Quality stuff! But they don't fit in with any 28mm figs, IMO. I own 100's But I don't mix them in with my newer figs.

Thanks.

"It's not the age that puts me off -- It's the outrageous pricing."

I looked at these a few months ago, as I have a few Thunderbolt Mountain Elves from years ago and thought of getting a few more.

Till I got as far as the shopping cart saw the shipping and fled.
