Along with renowned historian David Glantz, Little Wars TV will be presenting Operation Winter Storm as the backdrop for a long-gestating project they've had in mind for beginner-friendly World War II gaming.

From their initial Patreon announcement today, there will be –

Free rules, free paper miniatures, free scenarios--the same template that worked so well for the Dark Ages. We've developed a linked series of historical scenarios following the progress of Winter Storm, so that players can experience well-researched historical engagements at the battalion to division level. Unlike Ravenfeast, the rules we have in mind here are not our own. We're using a free set of WW2 battalion-scale rules that have been available on the internet for over a decade.

For the free paper miniatures, we hired an artist--one of YOU, our patrons in fact--to create custom top down artwork……units are designed so you can simply print them, cut out the rectangular base, and glue it down to cardboard, MDF, or whatever basing material you have handy.

Expect more details to come in November, as they ramp up for a Winter's gift for us WWII gaming fans!

Sounds fun. Wonder what ruleset they are using?

Joe, just speculation right now on the rules, but LWTV did say we should know more about the set in a week or two.

Bases are going to represent platoons.

Wow! How lucky. Stalingrad is my current project/fixation/obsession. Looking forward to more of the details.
