This site lists over 239 types of WWI aircraft (from trainers to Zeppelins) link

What is your top one?

My Top are
LFG Roland D.II
Gotha G.V
Fokker DR 1
Albatros D.V
Pfalz D.III

But have to mention the Zeppelin Z.12 is fun to fly and survive

The site has quite a few ads on the boarders and occasional pop up – but a lot of really good information in multiple sections on each aircraft page covering lots of specs, pics and details

I am a land-focused and not an air-focused gamer, so as a WWI German commander I would like very much to have support from a staffel of Halberstadt DIVs in the ground-attack role, to paste the Tommies with MG and grenades, bitte!

Albatros, in all its iterations
I love the Teutonic Whimsy of the personal decorations. 👍

Fokker DVII as top, Gotha Bomber as second.

Junkers J.1 for ground support, OEFFAG-built Albatros D.Va (so, in a steep dive, the lower wings will stay with the rest of the plane) or Fokker D.VII F (BMW IIIa engine) for air-to-air.

link may be of interest, mate. A WWI aircraft wiki.

I liked the Siemens-Schuckert D.IV after I "flew it" in an old computer game (Red Baron).

Those old computers and WWI flight sims seemed to go together perfectly! You could almost feel the wind flapping your scarf, not that I ever wore one!
