I am tired of people posting stuff they want to sale only on FB Marketplace. Cars, wargame figures, whatever. Stop assuming everyone is on FB. |

Here's a line for the Poll. "I'm not on Facebook." 😄 Apparently, that is SOOO 2023.. Not at all the hipster thing to do. And, I'm nothing, if not "with it". Dig it, Man? |

I heard you can get better prices, but I have no idea how you do it. No idiots guide, they assume you can do it. I don't like FB, but I could suck it up for a few weeks to clear the pile. |

I've sold a fair bit of stuff on FB, mainly militaria. Tbh I don't care who is on FB and who isn't, as long as it goes for a decent price and little hassle. I sell most stuff on eBay though. I thought FB was almost entirely populated by the over 50s anyway thes days? It is a good place to back up my holiday pictures. Hilariously I am old enough to remember being instructed at work to get a FB account, as we'had to engage with new media'. |
The Last Conformist | 12 Oct 2025 11:46 p.m. PST |
I've sold some stuff via fb, though not anything of TMP relevance. I don't assume, of course, that everyone is there, but there's no place where everyone is, and there's a cost in time and hassle in trying to sell something in multiple places. There's still a lot of younger people on fb. Acc'd Giraffe Social, for 2023: Ages 18-24: 19% Ages 25-34: 31% Ages 35-44: 16% Ages 45-54: 10% Ages 55+: 24% |

Not a Facebook person myself. Much too intrusive, and happy to sell my data. |

FB has been a great media for selling household and children's stuff. We're downsizing and getting ready for a move. Furniture and even a freezer has been sold. Using FB I have been getting better prices than I would from a garage sale. Gaming stuff on FB does not attract buyers. At least not in my market in Maine. I have been moving old gaming stuff on eBay. In conclusion I have found that each media has its uses, depending on what I am selling |

Irrational Number Line Games has a Facebook account. We use it to point people to where you can read our articles in detail and where you can buy our stuff. We do not use the marketplace or storefront platform. |

Sell Stuff? What, you mean like getting rid of things? No, I don't do that on Facebook |
Joes Shop | 13 Oct 2025 6:08 a.m. PST |
Yes. I never assume 'anyone' is on FB. I don't care who is and who isn't on FB. My only concern is the transactions on that platform. |

I am tired of people posting stuff they want to sale only on FB Marketplace. It's their stuff. They can sell it however they want it. Some folks don't want to pay the ebay fees, etc. Cars, wargame figures, whatever. Stop assuming everyone is on FB. You can also try ebay, amazon, LAF, etc. You can have a FB/Social Media account and not use it, except for market sales. My wife has had one for over a decade and she never goes there. My next question would be, "If you aren't on Facebook, then HOW do you know who is selling what on Facebook?" |

I don't belong to facebook, nor will join. Wife sells on it. |

Facebook has categories for various hobby items and it works pretty easily. Just post pictures and prices, then wait for people to instant message you. No fees and there's a lot of gamers looking for things all day and night. The one downside is that as more things get posted for sale, your listing goes further and further down the page. However, after a few days you can close that listing down and start a new one. I've used it quite a lot over the last few years to purchase and sell board wargames, but there's venues for miniatures as well. |
KSmyth | 13 Oct 2025 11:35 a.m. PST |
NHMGS has a Marketplace page. I don't use it, but lots of our members do. I don't quite understand complaining if you don't want to use FB, that's a choice. There are some manufacturers who have a Facebook page and no other webstore presence. Spithead Miniatures is one that comes immediately to mind. Maybe you're not a 1/1200 ship dude, but if you are and want to grab some very interesting historical miniatures, using FB can be a must. |

"Much too intrusive, and happy to sell my data." Hate to break the news to you Robert, but your data has already been sold numerous times, and on top of that, any data that you have that hasn't been sold is either in the "Soon to be sold", or "We don't want this useless stuff", categories. Welcome to the wide wonderful world of bad internet security and hacking…. |

Tried on eBay but fees got too high. Not tried COSIM or marketplace since I would take money orders or checks. So I sitting here with 4000+ copies in wrap of Rocco's artwork of Napoleonic wars, AmyCivil War, and Gettysburg Artifacts. Plus another 900+ Osprey and Concord. lol |

I've bought board games on the CONSIM Marketplace page on Facebook. It's gone well so far. I've never sold anything on it. |
Titchmonster | 13 Oct 2025 2:58 p.m. PST |
Bought not sold. But reorganizing the pile so it has to be sold somewhere. Might give FB a try. |

No Facebook sales for me. I would love to see an eBay like set up on TMP. I wouldn't mind the fees since they would be going for a good cause. I use eBay and advertise on our marketplace. |

Does FB Marketplace sponsor a booth where you can sell things at game convention flea markets or dealers' rooms? |
nickinsomerset | 14 Oct 2025 9:35 a.m. PST |
Yes, and bought stuff, not just Wargames related. It is through buying some unwanted Victrix Napoleonics that we now have 5 regular players, most weeks! Tally Ho! |
David Manley | 14 Oct 2025 9:54 a.m. PST |
I have never sold anything on Facebook (apart from, apparently, my soul) |

I've sold a bunch of boardgames on FB. It's fairly pain free to do. |
ThunderAZ | 15 Oct 2025 8:14 a.m. PST |
I never sell anything gaming related on FB, OfferUp, Craigslist or similar. There are near zero buyers on those platforms. Other stuff that is more likely to get interest, yes. Tons of interest requests, but nothing useful. I used to sell stuff on eBay in the past, but their costs just got too high and I've had significant issues as a seller with buyer fraud and dishonesty. But never while selling game stuff. I only sell game stuff on topic specific forums now and will likely post on my own website in the near future. |
