Greeting fellow gamers,

This newsletter finds us in the midst of our busiest time of the year. Tomorrow, is our massive military history book sale. We will have over 2,000 books and some games for sale, come on by. Please note all the proceeds from this event go to funding of our (your) operating costs. It allows us to run the majority of our events at no cost to our members. Our next weekend, we have both the gaming convention Gamehole Con, and the MMSI Show. Your HMGS-Midwest Gms are running almost 2 dozen games, up in Madison. If you have not been to one, you need to check it out. Or if you are staying closer to home, we havethe Military Modeling Society of Illinois' event. This is your chance to see some of the best modeling work in the area and get some tips from the masters. Be prepared to ooohhhh, and ahhhhh many times.

Coming the first week in November is one of my favorite cons, RockCon. I have been a GM (off and on) there since 1984, where I started running my 1984 minis game. Morale was double plus good for some units, and during the course of the game I would collect all the charts and replace them with different rules, and insist they were always that way. Try not to miss this con. I call the the "Cheers" of conventions, because everyone knows your name. Then comes a rapid fire recap of the first part of our fall events. In order to keep this newsletter manageable, please refer to our Facebook Page for a more comprehensive listing of pictures. Then we wrap up with our usual features and calendars. I will sign off now, so I can get this out at a reasonable hour.

See you at the gaming table,
