SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR TACTICAL WARGAME in 28mm…

As U.S. forces push inland from the Cuban coast, the advance toward Santiago grinds to a halt. A heavily defended Spanish blockhouse manned by disciplined Colonial Marines and supported by local Loyalists stands in their path.

Facing them: a mixed American force of U.S. Marines, Army regulars and Bluejackets from the fleet. Lightly supplied but determined, they must assault the fortified position and clear the way for the final drive on Santiago before night falls and the enemy can slip away to reinforce the city's garrison.

This scenario pits mobility against entrenchment in a fast-paced tactical engagement using Osprey's popular "The Men Who Would Be Kings" rules. Can the hodgepodge American task-force crack the Spanish defenses in time, or will the Red and Gold still fly over the little fortress by nightfall?

JOIN US AT MINI-WARS 2025 at PORTOLA PAVILION on the campus of CAL STATE FULLERTON on Sunday, October 12th from 9am to 1pm for this exciting game on TABLE B03, run by renown Game Master "Last Stand" Dan Gurule, bringing his gaming goodness all the way from Colorado to Orange County, California!

"Active Duty Military & Marine Corps Vets" excludes Army, Navy, and Air Force veterans from the discount. Interesting.

Looks like a great game.

Thanks for your kind words, Col Durnford! Dan's games are always top-notch, combining great troops and terrain with excellent play-tested scenarios using rules he knows like the back of his hand.

Oberlindes,

That decision was made above my pay-grade, in an effort to link the discount to the THEME of this year's Mini-Wars, which is "SEND IN THE MARINES!" Personally I agree with what may be your attitude, which is that the discount should apply to any/all vets from any/all branches of the armed forces, but like I said, not my department.

Now for the main reason I am back here posting, which is not a happy one:

Unfortunately something has come up that makes it impossible for Dan to bring this game from his home in Colorado to our convention in Southern California. Dan sends his sincere apologies and his hope is that he will be able to attend Mini-Wars 2026 next year and bring this or another one of his games.

Anyone who already signed up for this event should receive an email from our convention informing them the game is cancelled and encouraging them to go back on the Table Top Events website's Mini-Wars 2025 page and pick a ticket for another game.
