I recently bought a 15mm army. The units are on 40mm frontages and made up of several stands. The command stands have a label which, aside from movement and morale, has ratings for MC and AC. The ratings are all numbers from 1-5 or so.

Anyone know what rules these might be from?

Might narrow it down a bit if you said what army it was, or at least the period/conflict they are for. Renaissance is a fairly broad period.

Multiple armies, more pike than shot

MC/AC says nothing to me, though DBMM (and probably relatives) use to differ generals by Allied Command (AC?) and Subcommand – the latter being better integrated into the command structure.

15mm for 40mm has a lot of applications, DBx being just one. DBMM uses 15/20/30/40mm depth with a various number of minis. DBR, eg, dropped the 15mm for dense infantry. DBA or FOG have less variance.

If you tell us the depth and how many minis are there per stand one might better exclude different systems – or rather say what works for these.

Mark,

I googled "what pike and shot era miniature wargame rules use AC and MC values" and the AI came back with:

"The miniature wargame rules that use AC (Army Commander) and MC (Wing Commander) values are the
Musket & Pike series. The series includes rule sets for the tactical battles of the 16th and 17th centuries, an era often referred to as the "Pike and Shot" period."

They are from GMT Games, copyright 2012. They are actually boardgame rules, but possibly they were converted to miniatures?

Hmm, they spelt Wing Commander upside down.

Rules from above:

GMT – Musket & Pike Battle Series Rules (v.7.0) (PDF)

MC: Morale Check. Various situations will call for a morale check on a unit. A die is rolled; modifiers are applied per the rules. If the result is greater than the morale rating of the unit, it has failed the Morale Check and suffers adverse effects

AC: Army Commander. The Overall Commander of that side's army. He has different capabilities than his subordinate Wing commanders.
