You were asked – TMP link For example: If a unit behaves poorly on the battlefield, do you give those figures any special post-game treatment? 57% said "no, I do not" 30% said "this is ridiculous" 7% said "yes, I do" |

I am of the 7%, bad behavior gets a demotion, usually its from a dice roll but bad behavior needs to be punished. Good behavior for same reason gets yo a promotion so it's equal |

I was at a miniconvention years ago and slowly bought up a substantial number of Napoleonic Bavarians thru a flea market vendor. My gaming group had a lot of Napoleonic gamers who played Empire II. I brought them to a game and they ran into an Austrian force. Within a few turns they were in full rout. That was the 1st, last and only time they took the field under my auspices. They got sold off at the next convention. Being Jacobite figures, they also had ankle issues. I shot an army into the air They entered a collection I know not where… |

"If a unit behaves poorly on the battlefield," They usually die in battle, so punishment is moot… |

Tywin Lannister would blame the commander first. |

I know fellows who execute dice in front of their peers. Years ago, a gamer playing at the store got so angry he gathered his dice, walked to the door, pitched them into the street. Shortly, a lad came into the store, his hand filled with dice, 'Look what I found!' The original owner held out his hand and said 'Let me have a look…' Grabbing the bunch, he marched out to the street and flung them into the grass in the park on the other side. Just as well. He was famous as the fellow you just don't let touch your dice! Doug |

I never blame the dice alone, they and the miniatures have a bond, they conspire to come up with the roll numbers |

Only bad generals punish their troops. It shows poor leadership skills |

UshCha, we agree on something! Mark your calendar… 😄 I noted in another thread that Tywin Lannister always blamed the commander. |

As far down on this list of posts as I am probably means no one will read this. However, here goes: Back in the mid sixties Jack Scruby was THE name in wargaming. He had a player who painted some artillery unit for some period. In their first battle they did so poorly that he picked up the whole bunch of them and threw them agains the wall. In those days wargame figures were commonly cast in typemetal which is brittle. I don't know if any aurvived or not. Tom |

Garryowen – Never thought much of the guy from what I have read of him, no tolerance for real world games. This is a final conformation he was never in the real world. Even the Romans in a fit of pique never killed more than 10% Decimate was the term. So If sombody has scraps 10% of their Roman army maybe I could let them off, other than that its just a sign of a poor player. |

7%!!! I think that is a large percentage for a hobby that supposed to be fun and entertaining. I would hope it would be 0%. People we are taking this way too seriously! |
