You were asked – TMP link Is Your Way to Play Wargames the Only Proper Way?For instance, is 15mm the only proper scale for Napoleonics? Can one have more than one project? Are the rules you write the only acceptable rules for that particular period? Are fantasy games nonsense? Must rules account for every possibility? Many more. If you have very strong opinions, please add another codicil. 73% said "no, my way is not the only proper way" 9% said "yes, my way is the only proper way" |

There is only 1 true scale 1/144 . The rest is all personal choice. Rules seems to me is about what and where you play. If it's at US conventions (no None-Competition game equivalent in the UK as far as I am aware. These rules are going to be wildly different to those used for continuous play week in week out for 10+ years with experienced, keen history types. New one – Nobody should ban unpainted figures.

"Nobody should ban unpainted figures." EVERYONE should ban unpainted figures. And give warnings followed by fines for desert bases on grass boards or equivalent. If you don't care for a nice-looking table, cardboard counters or computers take up much less space and are often cheaper. All honor to John Slaughter of Slaughterhouse, a game shop in Killeen, Texas. He used to tell gamers that certain figures were too ugly--as in too badly painted--to be gamed with in his shop where children might see them. |
