Well it is a mystery to me and however much I search my many books on French Napoleonic Artillery, every modeller's on line catalogue etc, this is the only image I can find. The label does notwithstand enlarging alas. Please put me out of my misery some kind soul.

This is a Gribeauval wagon built to carry 250 pioneer tools or five tons of powder. It could also take a coffer at the front to carry spare parts for the division's vehicles. There would be a number of such wagons with each horse artillery unit. |
