…REVOLUTIONARY AND NAPOLEONIC WARS IN WILLIAM DUANE'S MILITARY WORKS

"French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars had a significant impact on the United States. Even the American-British War of 1812-1814 (or 1815) is sometimes considered one of the peripheral theaters of this conflict. Americans, sometimes active participants and at other times passive observers, sought to draw lessons from the events unfolding in Europe. I realize I'm getting older and am more careful about maintaining my own balance, but self-propelled guns like the Bison don't really have much space, and a lot of what they have is broken into vertical pieces, so I end up feeling like somebody could fall off if they weren't careful, even if it wasn't being rained and snowed on. I know, I know, for my purposes, they would need to make the thing twice as wide, level the deck, cover the deck with non-slip coating, and put a safety rail around the whole thing.

Still.

It still looks like a feller could get hurt lifting heavy shells and propellant, while working on one of these things.
