Good news everybody,
We have extended pre-registration discounts for Autumn Wars, for an extra day. That's right you will have until tomorrow night to get your savings for our double themed event. This will be the last reminder you will get. We are looking good with just over 40 miniature events held over the three days. Although this location is new, I think you will agree it will meet all of our accommodations. We have an option to hold the event here again in 2026. Do not forget to get your table for the War Chest, at only $20 USD (US) we are able to keep that cost tariff free.
Included in this issue are some sneak peaks of a small portion of the great games you can enjoy, at the con. As before we will have our full line of HMGS-Midwest merchandise for sale. Many items are perfect for completing your fall ensemble. We have a room block set up with the adjacent Renaissance Hotel, with a link provided below. Finally do not forget to sign up for the Team Yankee and Flames of Wars Tournaments.
Now comes the part "It's not what my convention can do for me, but what I can do for my convention". We are still in need of some volunteers to help everything run smoothly. If you can help us out, for a shift, we thank you. I will reward each of you with one of my fabled Re-Roll Cards, as gratitude. I also want to tap into the hive mind. We have been trying for months to get a food truck for the con, without significant progress to date. If anyone has an ideas or, leads please feel free to reach out to me or the BOD.
Next up in the newsletter is hoard of other gaming events on tap. HMGS-Midwest will be sponsors at the Chicago Toy Soldier Show, running our Biannual Historical Miniatures Night at Grognards-Roselle, and we will be running games at Dragonfall and Archon this year as well. Do not forget the weekly Wednesday Night historical events at Games Plus.
We also have our regular features returning in this issue. And finally thank you to the 40 new subscribers who signed up at the Lockport Military History Fest. For years now that show has been one of the premier historical events in the midwest, and we are please to be a part of it.
Thank you, and see you around the gaming table,
Kevin
