I found a massive bargain on Noble Knight for the Old Glory Dodge City Front Street resin buildings. MSRP $155 USD, and I got them for $55 USD!

So, I'm doing prep work. Sanding down rough spots with sandpaper and Emory nail files. I want to rough up the very smooth undersides of second floors and roofs, so I can glue in tabs to keep them from sliding.

I'm slightly annoyed at how thick the "flash" is in the door frames (see where this is going? 🙄) so I take my trusty X-acto knife and knock out the flash and trim the aperture.
Next step. Gluing windows and doors in place.
Uhhh… The doors are slightly loose fitting. Then it hits me. The thick "flash" was there to fit the door in place, and I cut it away. 🙄😱
Oh, well.
So, it wasn't sloppy casting. It wasn't a bug. It was a feature. Hopefully, I didn't file them all away.

Happens to all of us, OFM. In fact, you could probably divide wargames manufacturers into those where something unusual is presumed to be a piece of equipment and those where something unusual is presumed to be a mold defect.

I will name no names.

Once I was on my way to gaming event in south Eastern PA, wayz routed me into South Philly from NJ, I remembers thinking that was absurd and tried another route only to discover why.

Occasional we all think we no better, only to discover we don't.

Glue in some thin strips of balsa or card to fix it. Easy peasy… ;-)

I know how to fix it. It just annoys me that I deleted the method that was already there. 🤷

Hey. I'm confessing stupidity. I didn't have to. Don't rub it in. 😄

So, the larger building had intact doorframes. I dropped a door into the well. It fit perfectly. I got it out and added a nice amount of superglue, then dropped in the door.
Another annoying factor was that the "flash" was rather thick, and it took some effort too gouge it out on the building I had first mutilated. 🙄

So, I had always planned to glue some card behind the empty door frames. It's not as if I had ruined the original plan. 🙄 It's just that it could have been much easier.

Been there, done that -- to the point I had to come up with a replacement system to fix my "fix"… Glad to hear you did not reach that point on this project, John. How about sharing some pictures of your project, especially when finished?

It's nice to hear that I'm not the only overly eager modeler on TMP. LOL! Cheers!

I've done that as well. Crap, that was part of the figure!

Yo know those perforated flap thingies that stick out to the left on German antitank guns? I clipped them all off while painting PaK40s for a friend.
He still talks to me.
