Hi All,

We had a pretty good turnout for our monthly game day here on the Western-side of the Mississippi yesterday.

Coordinating with a local college history class, we presented four American battles, spanning from the American Rev. to the Plains Indian Wars.

I ran my Brandywine rearguard action again, and here's some pics I captured, and will post pictures of the other tables if those become available (or link to the group's webpage later).

Afterwards, we sat around and kabitzed on how we'll plan our games to highlight next year's 250 year anniversary of our War of Independence (an opportunity for even more depth and focus).

Some smiling faces comin' at ya from the very able Continental Team (this is what it's all about) -

The Hand of Will (literally) – Will handled (along with Mark L., who came a couple hundred miles to visit and play) the Royalist troops -

Still early in the game here, a few of the regiments in Agnew's British 4th Brigade advance -

Speaking of "handy" – this little setup (4ft. X 4ft. board), with manageable units and figs, just fit the day……seemed perfect for one of these days out at the local hobby shop.

West of the Mississippi is a big territory! Where exactly did this affair take place?

Just west of the Mississippi in St. Louis – The Gateway to the West, we're the Big Muddy Gamers -

We have a just-East of the Mississippi side too (in Illinois), that completes the Alliance.

That is an excellent looking board and minis, FlyXwire!

What materials did you use for the different fields? I am especially interested in the tall green fields and the yellow fields but everything looks great.

Pete, they're Silflor grass mats (from Scenic Express).

Unfortunately, over double the price now from when I was buying them (which was way high enough then).

Maybe the links will work (lots likely Out of Stock too) -

Classic – California Golden Grass mat (the yellow fields)-

Lots of other Silflor mats here (S-Express sells other brands also) -

Great looking pics, thanks for sharing them. I am in hopes that our Games in Education project will allow our group members an opportunity to interact with the students that take advantage of this chance for some extra credit. Likewise I am in hopes that the attending students will enjoy the opportunity to view history through a different lens. Thanks for your contribution to the efforts.
