Great report and photos, Robin. The rule modification for movement on steep terrain came from the Gallipoli scenario book as you mentioned. Kallistra terrain Hexons were used to recreate the 20m contours based on original maps. Given the steep ravines and rugged hills, it became apparent that the usual contours for games covered multiple Hexon levels. A game contour could represent 100m roughly so 5 Hexon levels for example. Many of the contemporaneous accounts from different units involved in Gallipoli landings or the Battle for Sari Bair gave reasonably detailed information about the time taken to scale the heights. Sounds like the abstraction worked out for this game? Thank you for the feedback.
