I don't have a vendetta.

Perhaps the people having a go at me are the ones with a vendetta?

I don't care who the person is, or what they are posting (within reason).

I simply don't want to have to travel through dozens of pointless topics.

Nore should anyone else.

I'm not sure why people have chosen to treat me in this manner.

Again:

Problem explained.
Solution given.
Example shown.
Excuses none.

"All of the Aussies who have posted have supported Gunner Dunbar's posts."

Interesting word use. Again ignoring the actual issue.

"So on this Aussie board, mate, you're out of step with the rest of us"

I have provided information on a problem, offered a logical solution, and even an excellent example.

Others have endeavoured to harass me for that.

I am gladly out of step with those people.

"There's a name for that."

Civil.

"I suggest you consider the opinion of the rest of us, because if Bill gets sick of this garbage and asks who we want to keep, at the moment it won't be you."

It's not about opinions. It's about proper message board use. The reason we have topic is to post under. If you make another topic for each post you void the point of topics, simple.

The only garbage is from people having a go at me for simply bringing up the issue.

If Bill wants to side with the mob and kick someone off for providing suggestions that would make TMP an even easier and more enjoyable site to navigate, that's entirely up to him.

I'm Australian, this is the Australian board and someone is cluttering it up with needless topics.

I have avoided the board for that reason, as I find it difficult to navigate and time wasting to endlessly check serialised topics trying to find out if someone else has posted anything.

Again:

Problem explained.
Solution given.
Example shown.
Excuses none.

Mate. You don't pass the pub test. One person agrees with you and that's you.
Problem explained-you want things your own way.
Solution given-do what you want
Example shown-this is how you want it
Excuses – I blame the fumes from the glue you use.
I'll give you right of reply, then I'll take my own advice and stifle you.

The H Man07 Sep 2025 1:54 a.m. PST

I still don't get the hostility.

I've helped identify and provided a reasonable solution to a problem.

I've offered them some life experience advice in the face of an adult tanty.

Hmm..,

All I see are people using them as an excuse to harrass someone.

I'm glad I don't have friends like that.

They should be wondering just who their real friends are here.

There's your social media, if you can't beat someone down with bullying and harassment you cancel them.

"It's a new army major, we're all adjusting."

Just a guess.

Ahem..,

"Ninja… Vanish!"

This is such a treat.

Cheers.

I'll point out the ongoing impact of whats been going on.

Already, with a glance at the board, all the multipart topics are getting mixed up and seperated due to occasional additional posts to them.

This means good luck to anyone who catches "part 3/this unit" then has to go looking for the rest, if they can even be bothered.

Archivists nightmare.

TMP already has a lot of old stuff to be sorted out, I think is still there?

Pitty the person who has to sort this board out in future.

Again, the link to the buildings I put up would be both easy to read in chronological order, as it's all there, and super easy for TMP to deal with if it ever needs moving or what have you.

Less topics for editors to have to jump into and check I'd think too, saving valuable time. If needed.

Making a new topic for every post costs the poster time also, they must have better things they could be doing.

They have added posts to their existing topics before, so they do know how to do it. It's not a knowledge issue.

I guess a bazillion links to their proper blog is handy??

But they could just be added to their additional posts under existing topics anyway, if they feel the need.

Think of it like a book.

The board is the book, the topics the chapter, the posts the pages. You don't make a new chapter for every page. That's basically what's going on.

Shrugs.

PS

Just imagine if I had kept making additional topics for this one.

"Part 22, part 46,"

I show much mercy.

Everyone should stifle everyone else
Sorted

Or this will continue fruitlessly until someone is exhausted

The H Man08 Sep 2025 7:07 a.m. PST

Top notch.

Thanks.

PS

I don't get why the guy did that.

He comes to a topic, then says he's going to stifle someone.

It's weird.

Had it happen once or twice before.

Thay can't act in a mature manner, and just get on with life, without them taking some sort of action.

Perhaps the point was to confuse me.

If it was it worked.

Thay can't act in a mature manner, and just get on with life, without them taking some sort of action.

A TMP classic "pot calling kettle" moment.

The H Man09 Sep 2025 6:24 p.m. PST

They called you here for that?

Got their money's worth.

Infact that post exactly matches the quote you used.

So jokes on you.

It would be far more sense, and better use of your time, for all site users, if you simply asked your "friend" to stop making so many topics and instead place their posts within far fewer topics.

You could them come back and harrass me some more, if thats what makes you feel good about yourself.

(The news has been mentioning "open arms," and "soldier on" (donated gear to them before), if DF (or exDF?) people need someone else to talk to. Not sure on full details, check their sites.)

Dan is from Australia…

Dan posts pics of lovely painted wargames miniatures and vehicles…

I don't see an issue with posting the photos -- which I find inspiring -- on a board about wargaming in Australia

I would be feel poorer if Dan were to not post, so, Dan, please keep on posting photos of your work!

The H Man11 Sep 2025 5:12 p.m. PST

Yeah, this is becoming an issue.

Somehow people are coming here(invited by persons up to mischief?), and acting as if I'm asking the person who is making all the needless topics to stop posting.

I have never suggested they stop posting, in fact they can post more, for all I care.

All I ask is that they stop making so many topics about the same subjects.

If your painting an army, just make a topic for that army and post everything about it under that. Don't make a new topic for every unit.

Needless to say, same goes for "part 1", "part 2", so on. Just make one topic for all the parts of a project.

It's not much to ask.

Hopefully people can now avoid trying to paint me as something trying to stop someone else from posting, as it is simply not true.

The H Man12 Sep 2025 2:04 a.m. PST

Incase people missed it, here's an example of someone doing it correctly (no affiliation, although I did post comments):

TMP link

You can see how they simply added consistent updates to the single topic, as opposed to continually making new topics to clutter the 3d printing board.

This makes the topic a joy to read, as it's all there (yes, my comments too), and you don't need to hunt around the board trying to find and correctly order all the bits.

I'm sure future TMPers give this guy a +1.

(Actually probably a +1,000, owing to inflation.)

And so should we.
