An old point, but that's the point. I haven't looked at this board for a long while, whatever it is. Having people's topics shoehorned into someone's personal blog is still a bit much. Can we please have a board for the rest of the population please. Seems roughly three quarters plus are from one person, looking at the most resent entries. "Why don't other people post more?" Why don't posters pay attention to the board upon which they are posting? "Hmm, gosh I posted a lot of topics here. I know, I'll take a break and let someone else have a go." If only. Verbal "mess"(can't spell it, gave up). Less is more. So on. Oh, and, of course, don't shoot the messenger. |

That is the worst idea I have heard in a long time, we should definitely do that! 75% of the posts coming from one person does not mean they are "cluttering", it means they are keeping the board alive. We have a nearly inexhaustible supply of thread IDs, one person posting doesn't prevent someone else from doing so. In fact probably the opposite. I wonder how high X can go in the expression "msg.mv?id=X" When will TMP run out of thread numbers? |

There's more than one Aussie posting on TMP, H, as you know. I don't cross-post, so none of the topics I raise (few as they are) end up on the Aussie board. It still seems to get a fair bit of traffic, especially for the small numbers of gamers as compared to the US, EU and UK. Having people's topics shoehorned into someone's personal blog is still a bit much. I don't understand the reference to your blog. How are TMP topics being posted on your blog, mate? (That's the meaning I get from that sentence.) (Disclaimer- I know Dan personally and we served in the same regiment, but I don't think I'm being biased.)
If the gunnie is posting a lot, with a lot of photos, it's because he has prolific output. I wish I could get 1%, just of his painting productivity, done to my pile of plastic and lead. Then there's 3D printing and models being built and painted, on top of the painting. If he's bragging a bit (I don't see it as that) then he has a right to. |

If there were a Northeastern Pennsylvania Board, I wouldn't bother to post to it unless it had specifically to do with traffic on I81 when there's a concert at Montage. "ALERT! Dal +1 I'm an Aussie, have been coming to TMP since May 2005. Post whenever I have something to post. Have never posted on the "Australian Board". Prefer to be period specific which I feel is a key attraction of TMP. I have submitted more than 3200 posts. Have only stifled 2 users (religious abuse and dreadful moral and ethical attacks) Always enjoy Gunner Dunbar's posts and wish I could paint half as well as he does. |

I post to the Australian board because I am patriotic, I love my country and its people, even the crappy ones with bad attitudes, but that doesn't mean I have to put up with their poor attitudes, so if there's a board that's labelled Australian I'm posting on it regardless of the topic, I like seeing what other Australians are up to, needless to say I don't cross post between periods/genres, I don't need to use this forum as a personal blog, I already have a blog, but what's the point of this site, if not to share one's work and draw inspiration from others? It shouldn't be a place to whine at the world about how your life sucks, I've been here 14 odd years, with 4000+ posts, and whilst I have come across other unsavoury characters, I have never been accused of posting to much before, so I had to respond, I can't remember another post where I needed to be, or was anything but positive, thank you for breaking my streak "h" man, as I suggested before, use the ignore function to avoid any of my future post, out. |

The Australian board is 3/4+ topics from one person, as far as recent topics go, all apparently just copies from his blog, with link. Nothing wrong with that, except it's nearly every day. Also, instead of simply adding to existing topics they already created on a subject, they keep making new topics, spamming the board. I pity the new comer wading through that lot. As they would keep clicking on another topic from the same guy while trying to find something different. Would take forever. Also, most have only 2-10 comments any way. If they were consolidated it would look even better for the topics created, likely 20-60 comments. I have braught this up before. I'll grab an example of things done the right way that springs to mind. TMP link This guy did it the right way. From the 3d printing board. Instead of just making endless topics on the same subject, he simply added to his existing topic, making the board a joy to use. It's got a good number of comments too. (Yes, probably mostly from me) See, it's not so hard. |

I was about to quit a short while ago, not fun. Actually, I don't think I can even remember what it was about, probably a 3d printing pile on. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. I don't think it's crazy to point out what I'm seeing on the boards. I think it would be crazy to suffer in silence, and not inform others of issues we see. Checkout that guys building posts for ideas. I linked it above. I also point out I'm just writing comments on a topic. It's not the end of the world. No one has to read them. Just post similar stuff within existing topics. It's not hard. I always have a moral dilemma when I'm making a new topic, am I cluttering a board, is it different enough to warrant a new topic? Because I don't want greif from people. PS Just read through the posts and was laughing by the end. Just the situation. "I was harder on him than I should have been."

The problem with this social media stuff, is you don't know the mentality of someone you are talking to, if you're having a hard time mentally, talk to someone, I don't want to contribute or be dragged into any issues you have, hit the ignore, walk away and have a relaxing weekend. |

Sticking your head in the sand doesn't solve the problem. I'm obviously not the one having a hard time mentally, considering the outbursts I'm being subjected to here. I just put it down as occupational injury and let it slide. What other's choose to do on the boards has nothing to do with my mentality. Perhaps the real problem is that I am the -only- one pointing out the issue, or the -only- one who has recognised it. But that's not my fault either, as I have brought it up before, at least twice. The real solution is so simple and harmless, as I have pointed out above, that it makes all this quite baffling. |

I disagree. Posts may be interesting, but duplicate topics are just needless clutter. Obviously there is a green elephant in the room, I'm well aware of that, but one shouldn't sacrifice others enjoyment for personal gain. Is it '97 already? "Nope, each is unique" That's incorrect. 3d printed Japanese, likely the German stuff, certainly part 1, part 2, so on. So yes definitely stuff that could be happily placed under group topics, if one were so inclined. As everyone else seems to be. Problem explained.

I hope Gunner keeps posting unique topics because they are of use. It is not for you to decide how and what he posts. If you have a problem I suggest you approach the forum editors and seek a ruling from there. |

This is getting to be more than tedious, H, and I still don't know exactly what your problem is- different posts have provided different "sins" and "cures". I'll make it simple, Sunshine. All of the Aussies who have posted have supported Gunner Dunbar's posts. So on this Aussie board, mate, you're out of step with the rest of us- or do you think you're the only one who is in step? There's a name for that. I suggest you consider the opinion of the rest of us, because if Bill gets sick of this garbage and asks who we want to keep, at the moment it won't be you. You have contributed to the board in the past and I'd like to see you stay on- only if you can put your senseless vendetta to rest. |
