Anyone know of a decent card based graphics program for designing random event cards, etc.? Seem to recall one a ways back, but have long lost the link.

Not quite what you are looking for, but in the past, I used the Avery Business Card template within MS Word & Publisher. I made a template for business card sized Unit Rosters. I printed them out on the Avery pre-perforated business card sheets (8.5" x 11"), separating them for use at the table.

The reason I share this is because they stacked nicely, forming a deck of small cards. You can print whatever you want on them.

MS Publisher is my preferred WYSIWYG desktop publishing program, but Microsoft is ending support for it either this year, or next. There is a freeware WYSIWYG desktop publishing program very similar to MS Publisher: Scribus (desktop publishing freeware program, Windows version, not sure about an Apple version, sorry).

Scribus will allow you to insert graphics, text, etc., giving you full control over where on the paper you want it, including rotating the objects on the page/card. These desktop publishing programs allow you to print like you are using a Process Camera and an offset printer, back in the 1970's-1980's. If you are familiar with those processes you cut out your artwork (text, photos, graphics), position them where you want them on the page, then print them that way (skip the Process camera creating an image on the metallic plate, going directly to the printer, digitally, from your composition on the screen). There are YouTube videos to get you up to speed on how to use it. Cheers!

I use LibreOffice Draw for things like that

If you dont mind the Magic or Pokemon format – there are several good programs for that – easily adapted

I have also used Card Creator on Steam

I regularly use Microsoft Powerpoint for things like this. It's easy, and I know it well.

I make a large box with the back on one end and the front on the other. After printing, cut and fold in half and either glue or laminate.

I just use Word and the business card template. Cut and put in generic (or color coded) sleeves
