I want to use Things From the Basement Aeronefs for skirmish battles. does anyone make rules for this? ship to ship and man to man. |

What came immediately to my mind were Frank Chadwick's "Ironclads and Ether Flyers" and "Soldier's Companion" which were supplements for a Victorian SF RPG called Space:1889. These cover exactly what you are asking for (and the Aeronefs you mention are based off flyers from that RPG). These are some 25-30 years old, but may still be available via eBay or Noble Knight Games. There may very well be contemporary rules I don't know about. |

Both fairly common on eBay. I will point out that a few other rulesets have pieces. Latest would be Wiley Games' Glorious Adventures in the Age of Steam. There's a separate section of a game for just small scale 'nef vehicles, but the gropos sections (regular and 'bigger' battles) have vehicles, rocketmen, etc. Doug Edit: I just remembered that Space 1889 has Cloudships and Gunships that had deck plans for some ships. |

Miniature Wargames 407, May 2017, had Cloudships of Mars full rules, which were an updated version of Sky Galleons of Mars (just the airship predecessor to Iron Clads & Ether Flyers. |

I've been trying to remember where that was, miniMo! Thanks! I will say it was of a scale, 1/300?, that would make using characters difficult. It derived from the Warlords(unaware if connected to the company) game club UK convention participation games at 25mm scale, though I don't recall if those had gropos fighting. Doug |

The club is "The Werelords" of London that have run both the 28mm battles and these 1/300. Rules are really scale agnostic, mostly depends on the size of your playing area! John Treadaway has been the driver behind these particular games. werelords.com |
