What is your favourite movie with Dracula appearing as that named character in the movie. Just having Dracula in the title doesn't count if it doesn't have the Count by name on screen (The Brides of Dracula has no Dracula on screen). If the character's name is changed to avoid paying royalties or whatnot, they don't count (sorry Count Orlok, too much of a slippery slope, no purely Alucard named characters need apply). Here's a starting list of notable entries in the genre, if your favourite is not on it, please nominate: * Dracula (1931, Bella Lugosi, English language version) * Dracula (1931, Carlos Villar, Spanish language version) * House of Frankenstein (1944, John Carradine) * House of Dracula (1945, John Carradine) * Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948, Bella Lugosi) * The Return of Dracula (1958, Francis Lederer) * Dracula (1958, Hammer, Christopher Lee) * Dracula, Prince of Darkness (1966, Hammer, Christopher Lee) * Billy the Kid vs. Dracula (1966, John Carradine) * Dracula Has Risen From the Grave (1968, Hammer, Christopher Lee) * Blood of Dracula's Castle (1969, Hammer, Christopher Lee) * Taste the Blood of Dracula (1970, Hammer, Christopher Lee) * Scars of Dracula (1970, Hammer, Christopher Lee) * Count Dracula (1970, Jess Franco, Christopher Lee) * Dracula vs. Frankenstein (1971, Zandor Vorkov ) * Dracula A.D. 1972 (1972, Hammer, Christopher Lee) * Count Dracula's Great Love (1972, Paul Naschy) * Blacula (1972, Charles Macaulay) * The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1973, Hammer, Christopher Lee) * The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires (1974, Hammer, John Forbes-Robertson) * Blood For Dracula (1974, Paul Naschy) * Dracula (1974, Jack Palance) * Dracula and Son (1976, Christopher Lee) * Dracula (1979, Frank Langella) * Love at First Bite (1979, George Hamilton) * Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992, Gary Oldman) * Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995, Leslie Nielsen) * Dracula 2000 (2000, Gerard Butler) * Van Helsing (2004, Richard Roxburgh) * Dracula Untold (2014, Luke Evans) * Renfield (2023, Nicolas Cage) * The Last Voyage of the Demeter (2024, Javier Botet) |

Lots of choices to like for Dracs. I think my first choice is Hammer 1958 with Dracula Untold a close second. For just the 1931 pair, it's a tough call. Bella Lugosi is superb of course. But the rest of the cast in the Spanish language one is really great, and the cinematography is so much better (filmed at nights on the same set as the English language production, and the Director, George Melford, got to see the dailies from the English one and figure out improved staging and camera work). |

Love at First Bite. "For you, no quickie. Only longies." I prefer silly Dracula. |

For me, "Love at First Bite" but as noted under "Mummy Movies" not really much of a horror fan, and it distorts my perspective. |

Bram Stoker's Dracula. Not Dracula, but 30 Days of Night was pretty good. |

The original silent Nosferatu. It is Dracula, only they couldn't get the license. Great movie. |

Vlad Țepeș imdb.com/title/tt0141966 Blade: Trinity – He likes to be called "Drake" but when people call him Dracula, he gets a little pissed off. |

#1 The original Bela Lugosi flick. Deservedly a classic. #2 Love at First Bite. Silly, and George Hamilton is perfect (and an in-joke himself, being famous for his sun tan). #3 Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein. It's a comedy classic. #4 Billy the Kid vs Dracula, because it's just so ludicrously bad. A comedy without meaning to be one. |

Shadow of the Vampire with Willem Dafoe coupled with Nosferatu. Don't care they didn't use Dracula in the name. Otherwise, it is Bela Lugosi for me. |

I used to work with Christopher Lee. Not the one referened above – a government privacy lawyer. But since I share a name with a soap opera actress, both of us used to commiserate about never accidentally recieveing a pay/royalty check intended for the other person with the same name. |

Does From Dusk to Dawn get a look in? The bar fight is brilliant, can't quite remember how the scene starts though. Maybe I need to rewatch it. Lost Boys, close 2nd |

Not a movie, however, the What We Do In The Shadows TV show. Much better than the movie. Great cast. |

"Abraham Lincoln:Vampire Hunter" deserves a mention because it had no right to be as good as it was. |
