I know the feeling. Still have five Egyptian chariots for the chariot repair shop treatment. Funny thing is one has a "spare wheel" somehow. |

I did much the same for the Ben Hur chariots for use in our chariot racing game. The only thing I did differently was to glue a small piece of balsa wood underneath the body of the chariot to take the strain off the wheels. I painted it the same colour as the sandy base. |

I love the technique. I have a bunch of extra brass wire spears left in my bits box. I was looking at a D&D pre-paint figure, this morning, with a huge, warped hammer (Titan figure, approximately 6 inches tall). I thought I might try drilling out the hammer and its handle, then insert one of my brass spears into it -- they are very hard to bend! I would suggest using 2-part epoxy, or Greenstuff epoxy on the wheels/axles. Super Glue has a really low Sheer Strength, and if the wheels turn, they will sheer through the Super Glue. During shipping, the chariot might have gotten pushed against the base, sheering the wheels off? If you never rotate them, they will be fine. Same thing might have sheered off the arms. I've had issues with sheering of miniature's appendages and extremities when I used Super Glue. I avoid it for that reason. The 2-part epoxies are not bullet/fall proof, but I've had better luck with them over Super Glue. Cheers! |

Given your title, I had visions of Charlton Heston grabbing the chariot wheel as it came off and leaning over the chariot rail to re-install it! Good job on your part and a couple interesting ideas, even if it wasn't as exciting as my imagination made it! Grelber Who dislikes painting chariots and has a dismayingly large backlog of them |
