Photos of our latest commission an M113C&R (Command and Reconnaissance) a smaller version of the M113 the Canadian Lynx.

We are starting one of our long games and I got lucky, Alex at AOTRS Shipyards had a small slot to do a commission so I got this done. It fits, as we wanted a 1980 to 1985 army from Part 2 of our lists. Preferably an ally across the pond and of all time Canada sprung to mind. Plus I have most of the vehicles for this army apart from the Lynx.

The astute may notice the turret is a bit taller than the real thing. The gain being a commission by us, is this change, it was implemented to make turning the turret (essential in our opinion for simulations) easier. However the STL will be available from Shipyards with both the scale and our turret options.

It will be great fun using a different army.

This vehicle unlike the M114 which fulfilled a similar role in the US lasted into the 2000's before being retired.

PS other versions will be available like the Netherlands version with a 20mm.

I have scaled up the STL to make a 1/72 version, not an ideal situation but OK for wargamers like me. However I did use the scale turret for that. I will post on another thread when this is painted.

I thought that you didn't care for 1/72.

79thPA – I don't but I an Chairman of my club and a friend does not like 1/144. So I compromise, I just use cheap stuff like direct scale 1/144 which is not perfect (tracks guns etc are oversize) but it keeps him happy.

Sometimes that's the key.

In my First Cavalry, armored Cavalry Squadron, we used the same version for my command track, the infantry squad track and the two scout tracks. The two TOW tracks were M901s and the mortar track was the 4.2" version.

No smaller tracks. They may have been left in Vietnam due to Vietnamization.

The US used for a short while the M114 made by Cadillac Division of General Motors it was branded a failure quite quickly, after Vietnam if I recall.
Tthe FMC M113 C&R was used by Canada and the Netherland as was in service a long time.
