I've been using Micron pens for eyes and lips for the past couple years. I even used them to turn one of my Viking's white trousers into blue and white striped trousers. This goes well beyond what I have been doing. It sounds like the pens you use are capable of getting into folds and corners, and are relatively thin, so you can work around things.

I will have to go to the art store and see if I can find a sample or two from the brands you suggest.

I picked up AK markers for my WW2 stuff and I like them a lot. Unfortunately, they don't do multiple colors so you can't create shades or highlights.

I love the brush-tipped acrylic paint pens. The quality seems to be the same, regardless of price, or name brand. I tend to buy the least expensive since they all give similar results. They are very quick to paint with -- I halved my average painting time per figure, but I'm a batch, assembly line painter: same quality, in half the time. For me, they are incredible. Cheers!
