Doing some arab israeli wargaming and would like to have some olive groves represented on the board. And I'm not wanting to make something from scratch using all those modeling and terrain skills…that I don't posess. I also don't want grade school terrain if you know what I mean (let's pretend this green felt is an orchard). Any suggestions. I thought about using those tufts or tuft bushes but not sure that would do a very good job. I suppose I could get some nails and glue some Woodland Scenics clump foilage to them. Not sure how durable that would be. I think those clumps tend to can denigrate into smaller clumps, but I'm not certain about that.

The secret to keep those clusters to remain "solid" and not crumbly is to soak them with their Spray-Tac or with their watered down Scenic Cement". It will look milky when applied but both dry clear, flat finish and the clusters solid (don't flake off if applied heavily).

Hope that helps.

I use Woodland Scenics Clump Foliage for some of my trees and have not had any big issues with them falling apart.

For Olive Trees, I would probably go with the darker green color.

Trees are pretty easy to make. I use picture hanging wire for my trunks in many cases and in some, I use the bump chenille trees included in the Terrain Maker kits.
