Asking because I'm getting ready to paint a couple boxes of ESCI Nap. British infantry (and am a bit tired of the blue-grey. Even if not historically accurate, I may paint them white just for variety anyway… ;-)
Thanks!

Regarded as Summer or hot weather gear. They were worn in the 1812 war in the Gulf coast region. However during nasty weather or cold snaps, the summer linen was delayed for wool pants. I think they were worn in Spain.

Guards did not have white trousers issued to them until after Waterloo. Wore them during the occupation in Paris.

Not clear if the OP is doing Peninsula or Waterloo
If the former then certainly white, but with grey creeping in depending on supplies, and some brown local cloth.
Waterloo, grey only I think.. wasn't there a thing about Guards at Waterloo in white trousers, or has that been debunked now?

If I remember correctly, they issued various grays experimentally for Walcheren, and went gray thereafter. So white pants and stovepipe are historical, but white pants and Belgic are wishful thinking--not that any of us would indulge in such a thing when painting castings.

Awesome, close enough..! Now they can also be used for B/New Orleans sceanrios… ;-)

Neither (or maybe both. ;-) I just like setting up the opposing armies and fighting it out. I might set up the terrain to resemble historical battlefields once in a while. As I paint more & more figures, the battles are going to get bigger. I'm not going for perfectionism… ;-)
Thanks all!

The troops that went straight to the Southern Front force contained a large contingent from Jamaica and the Caribbean. They only had white pants according to some reports.
