Sumerian Chariots in 6mm

Remember back in 2005, when I promised pictures of those Sumerian chariot stands in 6mm?

More army pics. This time my classical Indians. These were a slog to finish. I bought most of them over time from Hinds Figures, but they were mostly in pretty rough shape, plus many had been based on hard wood bases using construction adhesive (please don't do this!!!!). Getting them off for rebasing without damaging the figures was an excruciating task. both mentally and for my fingers.

The blue and black shields look quite striking.

There's a Robert E. Howard (yeah, Conan the Barbarian) story set in a pre-historic India that makes me want to build an ancient Indian army whenever I read it. Howard does a good job of bringing out an exotic, unusual, interesting culture.

So many armies, so little time <Sigh>

Another fantasy series that you could use an Indian army for is The Black Company by Glen Cook, specifically the Books of the South. A mercenary company traveling through an India like land with a lot of magic elements.

I have some 2nd hand figs based this way. I am in no hurry to attempt the deconstruction.

I'm sorry to hear that evilgong. You might try putting them in the freezer for a bit first, for some of mine it made the adhesive brittle which helped. Otherwise, sharp nippers and patience will eventually do the trick.
