More army pics. This time my classical Indians. These were a slog to finish. I bought most of them over time from Hinds Figures, but they were mostly in pretty rough shape, plus many had been based on hard wood bases using construction adhesive (please don't do this!!!!). Getting them off for rebasing without damaging the figures was an excruciating task. both mentally and for my fingers. Album: link

The blue and black shields look quite striking. There's a Robert E. Howard (yeah, Conan the Barbarian) story set in a pre-historic India that makes me want to build an ancient Indian army whenever I read it. Howard does a good job of bringing out an exotic, unusual, interesting culture. So many armies, so little time <Sigh> Grelber |

Another fantasy series that you could use an Indian army for is The Black Company by Glen Cook, specifically the Books of the South. A mercenary company traveling through an India like land with a lot of magic elements. |

I'm sorry to hear that evilgong. You might try putting them in the freezer for a bit first, for some of mine it made the adhesive brittle which helped. Otherwise, sharp nippers and patience will eventually do the trick. |
