Greetings Fellow Gamers,
I am sitting here on a Saturday night, with Svenghoulie playing in background, doing the finishing touches on my "Nerd" newsletter. Suddenly I get a flashback to my high school days. I was doing this same thing fifty years ago! Working on the weekend, typing out the schedule and AAR from our WUMMS gaming group. And yes the original Svenghoulie was on the air. After some brief reminiscing, I consider myself lucky to have been able to do what I enjoy, for so long. Some of those friends from the 70's I still get to game with (John, Curt, Darrell, Marty and Tom). That was an unforeseen benefit of gaming, that I wish all of you, will get to experience.
In this issue, Autumn Wars/War Chest is open for Badge registration and event submission. Games are coming in quickly, so if you want to showcase your efforts do so now. Do not forget the War Chest, half of the show (Saturday only). Time to sell off your unwanted and unused gaming pieces, other gamers can use them. Tables are going for only $20 USD, so get yours now.
If you traveling to Autumn Ways from out of town, we have an arrangement with the adjacent the Hotel for a discount rate. We also have listed our preliminary vendor list, and rules for the Team Yankee and FOW tournament are published. Finally this is your chance to pre-order your HMGS-Midwest merchandise. Get yours before there gone.
Other upcoming events include the Military Weekend, in Lockport. This is a great two day show that should not be missed. Complete with reenactment battles, encampments, vendors and food. Your HMGS-Midwest staff will also be there doing demo games.
We have a great gaming article "Historical Based Scenarios" contributed by our own Bruce Grabowski. I am hoping this will be the primer that will get the pump going and more of you avid readers will contribute. Thank you in advance.
.
Finally, in this issue are the results Board elections. All the nominees have been elected. Thank you for showing your continued support. Lastly all of our regular features have returned and have been updated. Including a new HMGS-Midwest game night at the Grognard's Algonquin store.
That is all for now, see you around the gaming table.
Kevin
