Putting together some urban street barricades to go with my 28mm Renaissance/Fantasy buildings and forces. Given the overturned tables, the temptation to write something is very strong. Words would probably be too small, so I'm looking for something shorter than actual mottoes. I can always go with Dwarf runes representing strength or protection, but can anyone suggest a fantasy, Renaissance or late medieval symbol which says, in effect "Our territory! Keep out!"?

A Bundschuh should paint up pretty easily, give them the boot!

Great idea! I knew of the movement and just flat didn't think of it.

Try "digitus impudicus" with an accompanying crude drawing. The phrase and gesture dates back to Roman times, so it is not inappropriate chronologically. Particularly good for barricades in the student quarter or perhaps near a church or monastery.

A skull icon, possibly an ork-ish one with a sword hilt sticking out of it, would get the point across. Flames would be easy. Or go with heraldry icons.

I used a variety of graffiti to enliven blank walls on Mordheim scenery from all sorts of sources.

The Walking Dead "Clear" has a load of slogans from Morgan Jones demented hallucinations:"Away with you". They're in the episode/de "Clear", and feature in the credits at the beginning of the earlier series.

Then I added things like:
Too Late Now
Turn Back !
No Hope Here
Hadley's Hope ->
Harsh Stone White
The Dead Remain
Lucky Sven's Dead
No More Room IN Hell

And of course No Pasaran !
