Good chance a friend of mine and I are heading up to Autumn Wars at the end of Sept.
Since we're not familiar with that section of the Chicago world, anyone in that area or familiar with it, that can give us some ideas on good places to eat.

Our picks are preferably:
1: No Thai or Hindu.
2: Chains are okay, but we're looking for something a above the standard chains.
3: We've done Fogo, Maggianos, Bavarian and Schnitzel Platz in Naperville.
4: Looking at steakhouse, beef, seafood, Italian, Greek, Japanese, Chinese, Mongolian BBQ/Grill stuff, all in about quick drive from where the con is located.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I dine near there often. Best bet is a short drive away in Rosemont. Definitely make reservations….

Gibson's or Morton's – classic Chicago steak house.
Carlucci – Great Italian spot, reservations required.
Carmine's – Italian-American, family style.

Unfortunately that area is kind of a no man's land next to O'Hare. If you're willing to go a little further in the car:

Foxtail On the Lake – American, interesting menu, nice setting.

fire + wine in Park Ridge.

There are a large amount of upscale restaurants just 2 miles west in Rosemont, IL. It is a convention center complex. Fast food stops abound .5 to 2 miles south. We are also currently working on getting food trucks. You might like the Edelweiss, about 2 miles SE. (Even better than Schnitzle Platx)
